£3 meals is a “bad joke”.

Labour’s proposal to introduce state-funded restaurants offering meals for as low as £3 has faced criticism from hospitality leaders. Hugh Osmond, co-founder of Pizza Express, labelled the plan for government-backed diners as “ludicrous”, predicting they would be costly, serve poor quality food, and ultimately fail. Luke Johnson, chairman of Gail’s, also criticised the idea, calling it a “bad joke.”
