Piotr Kucharski, 49, from Hertfordshire, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison for professing to be a member of a proscribed organisation.
Kucharski attended a combat and re-enactment event in Suffolk where he threatened participants with a knife. While there he publicly claimed he was a member of the Wagner Group and that he had previously fought in Ukraine.
There was no evidence to suggest that he was a legitimate member of the group, nor that he had fought in Ukraine. However, purporting to be a member of a proscribed organisation is a serious offence under terrorism legislation.
