Actor Bernard Hill has died aged 79. He was best known for roles in The Lord Of The Rings film trilogy and as Yosser in Boys From The Black Stuff on TV.
He played Captain Edward Smith in the 1997 Oscar-winning films and won 11 Academy Awards throughout his acting career.
Some of those awards came for his performances as King Théoden in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Hill also played the character of Yosser Hughes in the iconic drama series Boys from the Blackstuff.
He made “Gis a job” a famous catchphrase.
