UK consumer confidence increases in continued upward trajectory

UK consumer confidence increases in continued upward trajectory. The consumer confidence index in the UK increased by two points in May, making the overall score -17, according to the GfK Consumer Confidence Barometer. Four of the five indexes measuring consumer confidence saw an improvement. The rise in confidence was attributed to reduced inflation rates and prospects of future interest rate cuts, according to Joe Staton, client strategy director for GfK.
