A dose of outdoor activity for lonely children
A University College London (UCL) project will study the impact of “social prescribing” in combating loneliness among nine-to-13-year olds. These activities could range from gardening to museum visits, aiming to reduce isolation and mental health issues, and boost school attendance. The four-year study aims to encompass 600 pupils across 30 UK schools, with a pilot phase starting with around 100 students at 12 primary and secondary schools this year. This project is backed by the Kavli Trust.
