A good week to break the law? You could ask, but it looks like the judicial and prison systems are bursting at the seams. This has been a long time coming but it appears the main reason is the police seeking remand status for the most trivial offences.
In truth, remand status should used in the most violent cases. Applied to those who are most threat to society. Not matters such as petty theft or fraud.
Not that these offences should be trivialised but a lot of them are administrative and fear of fleeing could be dealt with via electronic tags. That would be a far better use of G4’s time.
