Asos tells staff virtual meetings are ‘detrimental’ to performance.

Asos has warned employees about the negative effects of online meetings on performance and threatened disciplinary action for non-compliance with its flexible working policy. Some departments are required to be in the office at least three days a week, as Asos believes in-person meetings are crucial for understanding the products. This comes as the company faces declining sales, with a recent 18% decrease in the 26 weeks to 3 March 2024, and increasing competition from cheaper brands.
