BBC presenters and journalists have been instructed not to quote a line removed from Rutger Bregman’s Reith lecture, where he labelled Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history”. The BBC’s decision followed legal advice, as Trump has threatened to sue the corporation for up to $5 billion over the editing of a speech he gave on the Capitol riots day.
