BBC faces tougher scrutiny over bias

The Culture Secretary has announced tougher scrutiny of the BBC to deal with perceived bias, following criticism of the corporation’s coverage of the war in Gaza and its refusal to brand Hamas a terrorist organisation. The BBC’s website and social media channels will be policed by Ofcom, and the corporation’s board will be legally bound to oversee the complaints procedure.
