The UK’s cost of living crisis is causing wealthy Britons to postpone major life events such as having children, divorcing, and starting businesses, according to a study by wealth management firm Saltus. Office for National Statistics data corroborates the postponement trend, citing decreasing birth and divorce rates. A separate report from Creditspring revealed that half of young British parents from all income brackets have foregone having more children due to cost concerns.
