Charity wants ‘cigarette style’ warnings on sunbeds
Skin Cancer UK is urging the government to mandate graphic warning signs in tanning salons, similar to those on cigarette packages, to highlight the dangers of sunbed use.
Chief executive, Gill Nuttall, suggested the measure could save lives, especially as social media is driving an increase in sunbed useage among young people. This request comes 13 years after the Sunbed Regulation Act, which prohibited under-18s from tanning bed use.
