Fat treatments rise.

NHS England statistics reveal a fourfold increase in hospital treatments for obesity-related issues over the past decade, reaching nearly 1.9 million cases in 2023-24. Criticism has emerged over the NHS’s decision to limit weight loss injections to a small fraction of eligible patients to “protect other vital NHS services.” The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Nice) estimates that treating obesity-related conditions costs the NHS £11.4 billion annually.
