French border officers will be stationed at Dover to alleviate queues from new fingerprint checks starting 17 November. The Home Office will introduce legislation allowing these officers to operate in an expanded control zone. Immigration Minister Seema Malhotra criticised the previous government for inadequate preparations and warned of potential travel disruptions despite new measures.
