A study led by scientists from Macquarie University in Sydney found that walking five times a week can help alleviate non-specific lower-back pain. The study of about 700 people revealed that those who walked regularly went an average of 200 days without a debilitating pain episode, compared to 112 days for those who did not. Professor Mark Hancock from Macquarie University highlighted the accessibility and affordability of walking as a form of exercise, and its potential for large-scale implementation.
Gentle strolls are an effective treatment for back pain.
