Health benefits of sunshine ‘may outweigh skin cancer risk’.

University of Edinburgh scientists have found that higher ultraviolet (UV) exposure may reduce deaths from cancer and cardiovascular disease in low-sunlight regions like Scotland. The study used UK BioBank data from 395,000 white European participants and observed that those living in sunnier areas had lower mortality rates from these causes. However, researchers still advise protective measures against sunburn and skin cancer.
