Labour MP Mike Amesbury has been suspended from the party and has had the whip withdrawn, after CCTV footage emerged appearing to show him punching a man to the ground.
There you have it. Although this is one side to what happened. The other side, which we have yet to discover, is what level of provocation prompted this response.
Could it be that the victim involved knew of Amesbury’s status as an MP and used that to goad the man into what he did. It was wrong but there are two sides to this story.
