Netflix escapes tax.

Ministers have dismissed proposals for a Netflix tax aimed at safeguarding British television, citing concerns over deterring investment from US streaming services. The culture, media and sport committee had recommended a 5% levy on UK revenues of companies like Netflix and Disney. However, the Government, in its response, emphasised the value of inward investment, noting the economic advantages of productions like Netflix’s Bridgerton, and rejected the levy plan.
