A decision to bar Israeli football fans from an upcoming match at Aston Villa has sparked a huge backlash, with Keir Starmer branding it “wrong” and linking it to antisemitism.
He said “we will not tolerate antisemitism on our streets” after Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were told to stay away for fear of clashes with pro-Palestinian supporters.
West Midlands Police said they had classified the Aston Villa v Maccabi Tel Aviv fixture as high risk based on “current intelligence and previous incidents, including violent clashes and hate crime offences that occurred during the 2024 Uefa Europa League match between Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv in Amsterdam”.
The match is scheduled for the 6th November and looks set to disrupt lives on British streets again with wild hooting and hollering from an out of control group of Palestinian protestors who will show, yet again, the contempt they have for British rule of law, standards of behaviour and way of life.
Time and time again this group of people under the flag of Palestine cause trouble on our streets at vast expense to the police and the UK tax-payer and with little concern for the disruption they cause to living lives.
They do it because there are no real consequences. In the middle east where the police response to violent gatherings is water cannons and guns they, in no way, demonstrate at the level they do in tolerant Britain. For that they should be condemned and deported.
They take the piss. Brits are fed up with the constant waving of the green and black flags and occupying our public spaces. Freedom of speech gives the right to protest but it does not give the right to mess up life arrangements.
