One in four girls ‘abused by partners’

A World Health Organisation study found about a quarter of adolescent girls in relationships have experienced physical or sexual violence. The analysis, based on surveys of thousands of 15 to 19-year-old girls from 154 countries and areas, revealed that 24 per cent had faced intimate partner violence at least once.
