One million children to claim disability benefits as cases surge
Official forecasts show almost a million children will be claiming health benefits by the end of the decade due to a rising number of autism and ADHD cases. Predictions from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) suggest the number of under-18s receiving Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is expected to reach 948,000, or one in fourteen children, by 2028-29—an increase that will contribute to over £100bn a year in health and disability payments. Pathetic!
