‘Patient passports’ to give access to all medical records

The UK Government is introducing “patient passports” to store NHS patients’ medical records digitally in one place, accessible via the NHS app. This initiative aims to save NHS staff approximately 140,000 hours annually and provide patients with increased control over their medical history. It also seeks to reduce repeat tests and medication errors by streamlining access for GPs, hospitals, and ambulance services.
