Rail passengers face eight days of chaos and delays. UK rail passengers are set for travel disruptions, as over 150 train lines will be affected by staff strikes and engineering works over an eight-day period, including the bank holiday. Network Rail plans to close key train lines and implement 487 projects over the weekend. Meanwhile, the train drivers’ union Aslef will host a three-day strike starting on 7 May, affecting 16 operators. Overtime bans will also cause further cancellations. The strikes are borne out of a long-running pay dispute.
