Party calls for mental health ‘MOTs’ . The Liberal Democrats are advocating for regular mental health checks to be provided to people at risk, such as new parents, young people, men in their forties, carers, and retirees. The proposal calls for a £70m investment in NHS talking therapies, funded via a crackdown on tax evasion. Analysis released by the party suggests that stagnant health-related inactivity may cost an estimated £18.3bn in lost tax revenues over the next five years.
