Ultra-processed food can harm our bodies 32 ways
Ultra-processed foods (UPFs) have 32 harmful effects, including heart disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes, poor mental health, and early death, according to a study by experts from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Sydney University and Sorbonne University. The study, involving almost 10 million people, revealed that a diet of 80% UPFs is common among younger, poorer demographics, and those in disadvantaged areas. The research also suggested the need to develop and evaluate public health measures to reduce dietary exposure to UPFs.
