Young children are brighter than the most advanced artificial intelligence systems, according to Google.
“A four-year-old is smarter than cutting-edge large language models (LLMs).
A child receives about 20 megabytes of information per second through sight alone, and a four-year old has been awake for about 16,000 hours. If you do the calculations, it works out as 10 to the power of 15 bytes, meaning a four-year-old child has seen about 50x more information than the biggest LLMs.
That’s reassuring – Young children are brighter than the most advanced artificial intelligence systems.
